Train to Busan, a Single Line
Yeon Sang-ho's 2016 <Train to Busan> received a five-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Midnight Screening and set the standard for the Korean zombie genre. The film tracks the time and tracks of a single KTX from Seoul to Busan.
The KTX interior shots were filmed over six weeks aboard a retired train rented from KORAIL. The platforms at Cheonan-Asan, Daejeon, and Busan were each designed with a different time of day and a different texture of chaos.
The final Busan Station sequence was shot at dawn. Since the station's interior couldn't be controlled, the team filmed at the platform's outer edge and used the station's own lighting to recreate the feeling of an arriving morning.

“Don't get off at Daejeon for photos. Don't disturb the station staff.”
