Yeongdo old shipyard
A 1970s defunct shipyard in Cheonghak-dong, Yeongdo. Three nights of shooting with the local government's cooperation. A restricted area.
A route that follows the work's scenes in order. Match the travel times and filming hours, and the air of that day will come close to you.
2026's Korean indie film <Thrash> tells the story of six young people set in a scrap yard. Yeongdo's old shipyards in Busan, an industrial-waste yard in Incheon's Dong-gu, and POSCO's Gwangyang Works are the key locations.
The director shot 'the next life of what is thrown away.' Every mise-en-scène is scrap + light + the shadow of a person.
Completed on a budget of just 11 days' shooting. Invited to the Vision section at Busan International Film Festival.
Even what is thrown away — has a next.
“Yeongdo's old shipyard is off-limits to the public. Only the outer road, by walking past.”
“Incheon Dong-gu industrial belt is best at weekday dawn. Mind safety.”
