Crash Landing on You, a wooden dock across an impossible border

tvN's 2019–2020 <Crash Landing on You> rose to No. 1 on Netflix's global chart and turned a small Swiss village into a worldwide destination. The wooden dock in Iseltwald is not a tourism-board creation — it's the work of a single drama.

The paragliding scene was shot above the real Lake Brienz. Hyun Bin's solo dock sequence was prepared around just two hours of perfect morning light. After release, a love-lock tour grew up around the spot.

The North Korean village set was recreated inside a studio in Jung-gu, Seoul. Swiss light and a Seoul set — two unrelated spaces become one village inside the cut.

What happened behind the scenes?

Iseltwald dock

The dock scene aimed at just two early-morning hours when the lake is most still. After the shoot, the village tourism office installed a permanent commemorative banner.

Sigriswil Panorama Bridge

The 340 m suspension bridge was shot under limited control. Safety wires for an actor with acrophobia were hidden just outside the camera frame.

Seoul North-Korean village set

Wallpaper, calendars, even dishware were recreated with consultation from defectors. The kitchen wall in Jeong-hyeok's house referenced actual 1990s Pyongyang interior photos.
